Introduction
ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is a widely used protocol for IP cameras, CCTVs, and NVR devices.
In order to integrate ONVIF-based cameras with FootfallCam devices, you will require the following:
- IP Address of the camera(s)/NVRs (these should be static, unchanging IPs)
- RTSP links for the camera(s)/channels you wish to integrate (e.g. "Streaming/Channels/101")
- Username/password credentials of the camera(s) (the profile must have the READ permissions to view the required streams)
Please note that the cameras MUST support streaming via RTSP for them to be compatible with FootfallCam devices, which should be the case for almost all cameras from major brands.
Obtaining Camera Details
Here are some of the methods which can be used to obtain the above details:
- Logging into the camera's frontend interface directly, by entering it's IP address in the browser, then logging in.
- Using an ONVIF scanning tool, such as ODM (Download here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/onvifdm/).
- For the default RTSP link, searching the internet for your specific camera brand/model, or checking the manual from the manufacturer is an option as well.
